Anchored in the brand’s nautical heritage while sailing towards the future
2024 proudly brings back the iconic Favre Leuba Deep Blue to celebrate the 60th anniversary of one of the maison’s earliest and most legendary dive watches. Originally released in 1964 during the Swiss Watch Fair, Deep Blue came imbued with the zeitgeist of the 1950s and 60s. It was a period during which Favre Leuba remained committed to pursuing the goal of producing robust, functional watches that were extremely useful for the wearer in any situation, wherever they were in the world. The brand’s advertising slogan at the time perfectly summed up this approach: The Swiss Watch for All Climates.
Classic Fluidity
The Deep Blue Renaissance reinterprets the classic diver’s watch for today’s connoisseurs with its 300-metre water-resistant round case, executed masterfully in stainless steel. It is aesthetically modern with the dimensions, measuring 40mm in diameter and 12.69mm in thickness. The graceful contours of the case, along with the tapered lugs featuring polished chamfered edges, achieve an ideal balance between aesthetics and comfort.
It is affixed with a unidirectional ceramic bezel and sapphire crystal glass. These high-tech materials exude sophistication while offering superior resistance to scratches and environmental elements, ensuring the timepiece stands the test of time. The sapphire crystal caseback reveals the watch’s power source, providing a clear view of the automatic movement.
Uninterrupted Visibility
Upholding the tradition of functional elegance, the dial of the Deep Blue Renaissance boasts an interesting two-layered sandwich construction. It consists of a top layer, with perforated indexes, positioned over a base layer coated with Superluminova, resulting in bright, luminous hour markers. These markers, coupled with luminous vintage-inspired hands, strengthen uninterrupted visibility underwater.
The dial is equal part dressy, featuring an understated grey hue with a nice gradient finish. A round date aperture is positioned discreetly between four and five o’clock for a clean, understated look and enhanced legibility.
Essentially Ergonomic
The Deep Blue Renaissance has a unidirectional diving bezel with a ceramic insert and ergonomic knurling. It features a neatly executed luminous pip at noon and a countdown marker to enhance functionality. The glossy finish and the dial-complementing colour choice give the bezel an elegant and refined appearance.
Easily Interchangeable
The Deep Blue Renaissance is presented on a black rubber strap to complement the dial and bezel. It carries an impeccable finish and comes with an ergonomic interchangeable strap system to ensure your adventures never cease.
Superior Driving Force
Designed and manufactured with high Swiss craftsmanship, FLD02 is a self-winding calibre. A testament to unrivalled accuracy and reliability, the movement is equipped with a date complication. It features a power reserve of 68 hours and delivers exceptional precision, beating at a 4Hz frequency.
Immaculately Decorated Calibre
The watch offers a clear view of the immaculately decorated calibre through the sapphire crystal caseback. It carries superlative finishing on all the elements, meticulously executed with refined details, such as Perlage on the lower bridges, Côtes de Genève on the main plate, Soleillage finishing on the rotor, heat-treated blued crews, and more.
Custom Skeletonised Design
The 4N gold-plated rotor is skeletonised and custom-designed with the Soleillage finish. It bears the Favre Leuba monogram engraved as a medallion. Skeletonisation of the rotor is an extremely precise task with more implications than just aesthetics. The weight and other characteristics of the rotor boast surgical precision to ensure winding efficiency.
Visibility Under All Conditions
The hands, indexes, and 12 o'clock marker on the diving bezel have a radium-like lume that offers a vintage look to the watch and a highly effective glow in the dark.
