A modern take on the timeless elegance of the classic Favre Leuba from the 1970s

When Favre Leuba revived the Chief Chronograph in 2024, it set a new benchmark in dial craftsmanship. Combining sunburst, brushed, and ribbed textures calls for absolute precision, leaving only a handful of colors capable of surviving the process with their brilliance intact. The Chief Chronograph Dune presents a softer register within Favre Leuba’s chronograph family. Its dial draws from the muted warmth of desert horizons, a sandy hue that shifts with the light to reveal alternating depths of matte subtlety and soft radiance. Rose-gold accents flourish to lend a refined glow, complementing the dial’s architectural geometry with measured contrast. The composition achieves balance and clarity, a chronograph that forgoes ostentation in favor of elegance, designed to move with ease between the formal and the everyday.

Case
Streamlined Proportions
The Chief Chronograph features a 41mm steel case with a unique design. At only 14mm thickness, the timepiece strikes a perfect balance between robustness and wearability, ensuring it becomes an integral part of one's active lifestyle. Inspired by the glorious history, this cushion-shaped case boasts a modern appeal because of its contemporary proportions and the multifaceted design.
It features multiple, brilliantly executed finishes such as vertical brushing, polished sides and pushers that add a stunning contrast and highlight the contours of the case. It exudes an understated allure creating a subtle play of light, giving the watch a refined and versatile character. It is topped by a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating. The sapphire crystal caseback offers a view of the beautifully decorated caliber and a water resistance of 100M.

Dial
Pleasing Dial Aesthetics
The sandy hue of the Chief Chronograph Dune undergoes over 100 meticulous production steps. Its surface combines a sunray circular-brushed base with contrasting sub-dials finished in fine circular brushing. Inspired by the muted warmth of desert horizons, the dial shifts with the light to reveal alternating layers of matte restraint and gentle luminosity. Rose-gold accents on the hands and indices introduce a measured glow, enhancing the dial’s architectural geometry while reinforcing a sense of depth, balance, and subtle sophistication.
A tachymeter scale along the internal rehaut underscores its sporting pedigree, while a raised 3D monogram, multi-faceted hands, and applied indices—treated with both brushing and sandblasting—lend architectural depth to the dial. Completing the composition, the bi-compax sub-dials provide clear legibility of elapsed minutes and seconds, ensuring function matches form.

Bracelet
Seamlessly Integrated Yet Interchangeable
The two-link integrated steel bracelet features a combination of finishes, alternating between vertical brushing and polished center links. It unites seamlessly with the case which gives it a graceful presence on the wrist. The bracelet is equipped with an easy change mechanism and secures with a butterfly clasp.

Movement
Superior Driving Force
Designed and manufactured with Swiss craftsmanship, FLC02 is a self-winding column-wheel chronograph caliber. A testament to unrivaled accuracy and reliability, the movement is equipped with a column wheel chronograph. It features a power reserve of 60 hours and delivers exceptional precision, beating at a 4Hz frequency.

Decorated Caliber
Meticulously Finished
The watch offers a clear view of the immaculately decorated caliber through the sapphire crystal caseback. It carries superlative finishing on all the elements, meticulously executed with refined detail, such as Perlage on the lower bridges, Côtes de Genève on the main plate, Soleillage on the rotor, heat-treated blued screws, column wheel, and more.

Rotor
Custom Skeletonized Design
The 4N rotor is skeletonized and custom-designed with Colimaçon & Soleillage finishes. The Favre Leuba monogram is engraved as a medallion along with the text ‘Swiss made since 1737’. Skeletonization of the rotor is an extremely precise task with more implications than just aesthetics.

Chronograph
Column Wheel Supremacy
The movement features a column wheel mechanism to govern the chronograph function, instead of the more common cam-activated chronograph. A column wheel chronograph mechanism is considered to be superior, more precise and a lot more difficult to manufacture.
Blueing is a result of a very precise heat treatment process which is used to increase the hardness. This process also results in the part turning to a stunning blue color. Even the slightest imperfection can result in an imperfect and uneven blue finish. In that case, the watchmaker has to repolish and clean the part in order to start afresh.

Lume
Visibility Under All Conditions
The multi-finished and rhodium-plated hands and applied indexes are equipped with a generous application of high-performance Super-Luminova X1. It offers a highly effective glow in the dark that lasts for a longer duration.
